February’s Beauty Bag
Oh this month has been a good one. I’m measuring this of course with the successful additions to my beauty bag.
I am going to start with the a product that is a first for me in every way. For some reason I got it into my head that I wanted to try using face masks and I say try, as never in my life have I used a one. I did some research and found two within my price range that I was willing to give a go. In the end I went for Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2 in 1 Wash and Mask. The only reason I picked this one out of the two was because it was the cheapest, costing around €6. No point spending a huge amount on something I wasn’t sure I would like. First time using this and I was blown away. Now, I’m going to give you a little too much information here but I feel it’s needed to make my point. For as long as I can remember I’ve had a blackhead on the side of my check. I resisted the urge to pick and poke at it as I know, once I get started I will end up with either a scar or a hole in my face. With that in mind I sadly accepted the fact that this blackhead was now a permanent fixture on my face. The first night I used the face mask I noticed it was somewhat more pronounced. With a slight nudge, it was gone! No picking, no pain, no scar; nothing! It was like magic! And as if I wasn’t sold on this product already, the next day I got comments on how well my skin was looking. As you can imagine this is definitely staying in my beauty bag and has become a regular part of my skincare routine.
I know this statement is probably not true but I feel like I haven’t bought a lipstick in a long time so welcome Soap and Glory’s Sexy Mother Pucker Matte Lip in the shade Pretty Muted. The reason I went for this is because I was looking for a pink that was bright but not neon but also I didn’t want anything on the nude side. Pretty Muted is a lovely shade that goes on well and feels very comfortable on the lips. Despite this I feel the colour application can be a little uneven but I’m being very picky. At only €5 this is a good product and one that is getting a good work out.
The other thing I repurchased this month was Batiste Hair Dry Shampoo. I’ve tried two versions of this brand, tinted and cherry fragrance and if I’m honest, I don’t use dry shampoo enough to warrant any proper preference but it is good to have as an emergency. When I went to repurchase the cherry fragrance, my eye quickly shifted to the Coconut and Exotic Tropical Fragrance. I’m rather coconut obsessed these days and boy oh boy! The larger tin went straight into my beauty bag and sometimes I even spray this in my hair when it’s clean.
It’s the small pleasures really but I do love when beauty products are worth the money you spend and that’s exactly how I feel about this month’s beauty bag.
