Beauty Bag

There aren’t a lot of newbies added to the beauty bag recently which is a good sign as I’m loving the products I’m currently using. Nevertheless I do have two to show you.

These products are stand outs. One I was a bit skeptical about buying and the other was a gift from a friend. Both have turned out to be super impressive and I’m so glad they have been added to my current skin care routine. With these newbies  I continue to use Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask and am scraping every last drop out of it. Now there has been the odd night of not washing my face at all but even with that I feel like I’ve struck gold with the current combination of products.

Let me tell you about the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm. Honestly, I would never have tried this myself due to the price tag but I’ve changed my mind. First of all it has a very strong scent. Something almost familiar which I haven’t quiet figured out but I love it all the same. A huge surprise as you know how I feel about anything perfumed. Actually both products have a fragrance that I don’t want to vomit at. Right, back to the balm. I use the smallest amount, possibly too small as I don’t want to waste a drop of it. If you haven’t used a balm before I highly recommend it. You massage it onto dry skin and remove with cloth. If you look at the website, it states to remove with the Emma Hardie Cleansing Cloth but at the moment a face washer does me fine. Never before have I used a product that makes my skin feel the way this does. Clean, soft, calm and overall brilliant! I really can’t express how much I love this product, smell and all. When this little pot of gold is no more I will definitely be buying the one hundred millimeter jar, even with the ridiculous price tag.

Add to this the next newbie, Vichy’s Idealia Night Peeling. This is another one of those products that for me is a tad expensive but I use it every other day or even every third day so I feel I get my money’s worth. The smell is lovely! Again, can you believe I actually like the smell of something?!  It’s a sweet, refreshing scent and that’s what it feels like on the skin. Refreshing and gentle. I can sometimes be disappointed when I use any ‘overnight’ product as I often expect more than is physically possible from a skincare product but to be fair, when I use this peeling potion I wake up in the morning not with some amazing new face but with skin that looks calm, even, soft and plump. All of that is more than ok with me.

It’s hard to say if these products do what they claim in isolation or if it is the combination of the balm, the peel and the moisturiser but I would be reluctant to change any of them.
