Alpha-H Skincare
Part 1
It may seem rather an odd time for me to write a post about beauty products, considering we are in the midst of a pandemic. I don’t know about you but I need a distraction, some random loveliness that has nothing to do with the seriousness that surrounds us. Luckily, I’ve the perfect thing to write about; a new skincare regime I’ve been trying out thanks to some Alpha H products.
I have wanted to try Alpha H Liquid Gold for such a long time but have never bought it for myself. I’ve gifted it a few times but now it’s my turn. I found this Best Seller Kit on Cloud 10 Beauty and decided to splurge. Actually considering the price of some of the full sized products, this kit is great value for money. Included in it is Alpha-H Liquid Gold 50ml, Balancing Cleanser 30ml, Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF50+ 30ml, Absolute Eye Complex 7.5ml and Hyaluronic 8 Serum 15ml. I decided to do things right and have been using all the products bar one (I’ll explain why shortly) religiously, and according to the directions, since February.
I’ll work through them in order of use. To start with, I use the Alpha-H Balancing Cleanser as my second cleanse at night (Clinique’s Take The Day Off Balm is generally always my first cleanse). The Balancing Cleanser is extremely gentle and deliciously milky. It is described as a ‘three in one’ and I agree with two of the three; makeup remover and face wash. The third, toner, I’m not convinced about, only because I don’t really understand toner so It could be doing the job, I’m just not sure what it is. I have thoroughly enjoyed using this cleanser and will purchase the full size version.
Next up is the Hyaluronic 8 Serum (I use this morning and night). It has some big claims like ‘ground breaking’ and ‘synergistic anti-ageing ingredients’ and while that all sounds like it will knock the wrinkles off my face, the proof is actually in my skin. One of the product’s claims, ‘reducing the appearance of expression lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet’ is one of the very things I have noticed. Is it because of this serum alone? I can’t tell you that for sure but I’m more than happy with the results all the same. It is a welcome addition to my skin after cleansing. A little tacky at first, but not for long as it absorbs well even with the smallest amount. The price is the only draw back, €42 for 25ml (alpha-h.com), but considering I’m not spending money on anything else these days, I will be happy to hand over my cash when this bottle empties.
To finish things off, the Daily Essential Moisturier SPF50+ is the perfect full stop. I use it in the morning, no need for SPF overnight, and keeping in the same vain as the other products in the best seller kit, I can see why it is a best seller. It is gentle and easy to apply. There is no residue or film, rather a soft, calm base, ready for the day indoors! I like this product so much I have also been testing it on Mr B and as far as his skincare vocabulary extends, he gives it the thumbs up. What is the most appealing thing to me about this product is the SPF. I often have to force myself to apply SPF to my face as I don’t like the feel of it under makeup but this is the opposite. In fact, I look forward to applying it to my skin. Even more reason to keep this one in my beauty bag.
I’m going to pause things here, as I’ve a bit more to say yet. Next up will be the star of the show, Alpha-H Liquid Gold.
I hope you are all as well as can be during this crazy time we are living in.
