Alpha-H Skincare

Part 2

There has been such a long gap between Part 1 and now Part 2, that it feels like an entirely new post, and in a way it is, as I’ve made a few changes to my skincare routine and for good reason. Before I explain all, check out  here or this post will make no sense at all.

What started my recent skincare overhaul was that I finally decided to try Alpha H Liquid Gold. When I came across this Best Seller Kit on Cloud 10 I decided to go all in. I’m so glad I did because, as I said in Part 1, I love every single item in it. Alpha H Liquid Gold is no different. The product has some big claims and I think I was secretly expecting to wake up to a completely different face, but with a reality check and persistence, I’m happy to say I can see improvements in the overall appearance of my skin. I took a very gentle approach to this product; slow and steady. I started by using it once a week for a month, and then increased it to twice a week. I may not have needed to be so cautious as my skin seems to soak up all its goodness, but I wanted to keep it that way. After a month I increased it to twice a week, every week.

One product in the Best Seller Kit that took me a while to warm to was the Alpha H Absolute Eye Complex. I didn’t start using it until I was writing part 1 and it dawned on me; if the other products are doing such a great job why would the eye serum be any different? It was swiftly added to my routine and no surprise, it’s great. However, €42 for 15ml great? I’m not sure. I very rarely buy eye cream so this seems like an excessive step. Despite it easy to use, and with visible effects, I just can’t justify the money. At this price, it is the one product in the kit that I won’t be buying again. I don’t know about you but I don’t think there is a cream in the world that will fix, remove and brighten the tiredness that engulfs my eyes.

Having gone through two Best Seller Kits and down to scraping every last drop out of every product, I couldn’t be happier with the money I’ve spent, and the time I put into washing and prepping my skin. After all, five minutes alone in the bathroom these days, is a pure delight! Here is a breakdown of each product that I’m currently using and those that make an appearance when necessary. I’d love to hear what you’re lathering on your face these days.

Morning Routine

  • Alpha H Balancing Cleanser or Emma Hardie Moringa Light Cleansing Gel – no need for a double cleanse if face is washed properly the night before
  • Alpha H Absolute Eye Complex – I’m coming to the end of my second tube and I won’t be replacing it.
  • Alpha H Hyaluronic 8 – serum
  • La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo(+) – I only use this on spots when they appear
  • Alpha H Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF 50+

Evening Routine Combinations:

Combination 1

  • Clinique take the day off cleansing balm
  • Alpha H Balancing Cleanser
  • Alpha H Absolute Eye Complex – see above
  • Alpha H Hyaluronic 8 – serum
  • The Inkey List Squalane
  • La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo(+) – I only use this on spots when they appear
  • Weleda Skin Food Light – moisturiser

Combination 2

  • Clinique take the day off cleansing balm
  • Alpha H Balancing Cleanser
  • Alpha H Absolute Eye Complex – see above
  • Alpha H Liquid Gold – twice weekly
  • The Inkey List Squalane

Seems like a lot when you put it down on paper, but depending on my mood the evening routine can take 5 minutes, or 15 minutes if I feel like taking my time. I have since added another product but it has taken some tweaks (hence the long gap between part 1 and part 2) so I will leave you in skincare suspense and tell you about it shortly.

I hope you are all as well as can be during this crazy time we are living in.

My morning face washed and prepped for the day. No fancy lighting just an amazing south facing bathroom which you can see here). This picture taken on my mobile phone after using Combo 1 of my evening routine last night and my morning routine listed above.
