October’s Beauty Bag
October has been one busy month and my beauty bag is a good reflection of that. There were a lot of purchases and some even without research! I know, crazy!
I’ll start with foundation and will keep it short. You know I’ve been having a foundation crisis so while I’m still trying to decide which one to commit to, I bought my trusted favourite L’Oréal Infallible Matte 24hr foundation in shade vanilla, a lighter shade to what I was previously using. It is a bit too light so I mix the two shades I have. Although, given the cooler weather now, I actually like using the lighter shade on its own which gives a more porcelain look. I find it really makes my blush stand out. Either way and either shade, this foundation is never leaving my beauty bag!
Next up is this Barry M waterproof eyeliner. I love when a product description matches what it actually does. According to Barry M, ‘These luxurious eyeliners apply as smoothly as a liquid with the precision of a pencil. They are waterproof and super longlasting with more than 8 hours wear!’ And I agree. Easy to apply, nice to smudge to add a bit of softness and it lasts. For only around €6 I will be going back for other shades!
The next thing I bought is something I said I wasn’t going to buy, but bear with me. While at the L’Oréal counter getting my foundation, I was poking my fingers in anything I could find and this L’Oréal Nude Magique BB powder felt heavenly! I don’t think I even read the description on it but it went straight into my basket. On closer inspection this powder is actually a BB powder but I use a very small amount and press it into areas that need some extra help and it is lovely! I’m glad I took a chance on this one.
Another product that magically ended up in my basket was this Seventeen lipstick in the shade make an entrance. The only reason it ended up in my basket was because I liked the colour. It is an in-between shade of the red and orange lipsticks I already have. It is a bit too creamy for me and I would prefer it to be more on the matte side but the colour is fabulous and I always get comments when I wear it.
Moving onto hair, I bought this shampoo because I have always wanted to try this brand and it was on special so while I was on a bit of a spending spree I thought why not? I feel like I have betrayed my Pantene Pro-V Lightweight Nourishment Shampoo which I absolutely love but sometimes it’s nice to try something new. Not this time. Unfortunately this shampoo is not for me. The OGX Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Shampoo feels heavy and my hair doesn’t have that light, clean, almost fluffy feeling which I like. There is one positive; the smell is just something else so on those days when I’m not too bothered about my hair it will do, but compared to the Pantene Pro-V Lightweight Nourishment Shampoo, there is no comparison.
I will leave you with this image. Deserving of a blog post on its own, I will come back to you with what started out as a money-saving exercise. I’m laughing at myself!
