Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara

It’s time to go back to the beauty bag with another mascara. You know how much I love the L’Oréal Miss Baby Roll mascara and I was reluctant to try anything else but a number of people recommended this new mascara to me so I thought I would give it a whirl.

I was going to wait to post this just to give you a break from mascara but I think it’s perfect timing. Perfect timing given how much I loved the last mascara I tried and how much I dislike this one. I’m sure there are going to be many of you who will think I’m bonkers but I really dislike the Urban Decay Troublemaker mascara so much, I can’t even use it! Continue reading

Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams

Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams

Paris is always a good idea but even more so when there is the chance to see the works of Christian Dior in person. The Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition at Musée Des Arts Décoratifs was the central focus to my last visit to Paris and I’m going to say it straight out; if you have any interest in fashion and art go and see this exhibition! Paris in the Autumn

Paris

Again & Again & Again

If you follow me on social media you would have seen I recently packed my bags and hit the skies for, you guessed it, Paris. It is hard not to return time and time again and as if the croissants weren’t calling me enough I had the extra excuse of attending the Christian Dior, The Designer of Dreams exhibition to make the trip even more worthwhile. Shopping for a cause

I broke my ‘no shopping ban’

But for a very good reason

I knew it wasn’t going to last forever. Actually I managed my personal no shopping ban for longer than expected but it has come to an end and all for a good cause. For the next few months I’ll be shopping in the maternity and children’s section! Baby B (that’s what I’ve named it) will be joining Mr B and I in early March and we are both thrilled and terrified. Moisturised Sun-kissed Skin

I’ve two new products that have become permanent fixtures in my beauty bag the past few months and I’m delighted to let you know that I only have good things to say about these two items.

The first is a new product (to me) from La Roche-Posay. I didn’t think I could love La Roche-Posay any more than I already do but then I tried Lipikar Lait. I found after my holiday in the sun my skin had become extremely dry and I needed something super-duper to tackle it. I usually use olive oil as moisturiser applying it in the evenings before bed (not a good idea to lather yourself in olive oil and head outdoors). Lipikar Lait claims to have ‘48hr lipid-replenishingno paragons, 100% hypoallergenic and minimal ingredients and fragrance’, but whatever is in it, it works, and does so bloody well! This is so moisturising and despite being rich and creamy it absorbs well with no slippy, greasy residue. It does have a slight fragrance on application but nothing to bother even my fussy nose. I thought I’d be battling my dry skin for weeks but within a few days of using this, my skin felt permanently soft and moisturised. Even using it on my body every second day (out of pure laziness), my skin feels smooth and healthy. I cannot recommend this product enough! Even if dry skin is not an issue for you, I would still encourage you to get your hands, legs, arms and torso smothered in it. Continue reading

Wish List #39

Wish List

#39

As Fashion Week continues I’m still pinning away like mad, ogling all that graces the catwalk. I’m rather fond of Paris Fashion Week mostly because of its backdrop and the amazing locations for some of the shows. Each city clearly has a place in each designer’s heart and I’m sure it is taken into consideration when deciding where to present their collection. New York, Milan, Paris? Tough choice!

There have been some surprising highlights for me from each city. I have some of my favourites that I would skip a meal or two to watch live; Delpozo and Gucci, Valentino, now under the solo stewardship of Pierpaulo Piccioli and Dior where Maria Grazia Chiuri, former creative partner of signore Piccioli, has taken the reigns. Alongside my favourites,  I love discovering new designers and getting different interpretations of the season ahead. And of course you are then left with some familiar names that are unfairly forgotten.

Check out the likes of Paskai, Dries Van Noten and Undercover Lab. There are many more I’ve  ranked as favourites, a high accolade indeed and you can check them out in my Wish List below. Take a quick look here or a closer look over on Pinterest and read why I pinned each beautiful ensemble.

If you’re getting Fashion Week fatigue fear not as this week’s Wish List will be a mix of the last remaining days of Paris Fashion Week and all sorts of other lovely bits.
